The Empty Shell of a Service Center

Pittsburgh's new Tesla Service Center is still under construction.  Despite rumors of delays, the work was ongoing when we stopped by Saturday morning.

After this week's Cars and Coffee and made another stop by the Pittsburgh Tesla Service Center.

When I last stopped by 2 weeks ago, the demolition of the building's interior had just begun.  This time, it is nearly complete.
The east wall, looking from the reception area towards the service area.
The contractor crew was just returning from their lunch break as Darren and I rolled in.  All the interior walls have been removed except for a couple in the back corner.  Reviewing the plans, it's clear these will also have to go.
The south wall, looking from reception to where a customer lounge will be built in the foreground.  Beyond that will be the service area and a garage exit door to the street for completed cars.
When I asked about their timetable, they said they would be finished with the demolition this week.  That was the extent of their responsibility.  Wednesday a new contractor is supposed to be on site to start the next phase of the project.  It wasn't clear to me whether that involved some actual CONstruction or not.
Western wall (facing Route 19) where the showroom area will be, along with customer delivery area and a new garage door.
There are still a series of large garage doors to be installed on three sides of the building and no sign that they'd even been marked up to have the holes made.  I suspect that would be the next (and potentially last) phase of the demolition process-- but perhaps that is what the new crew on Wednesday will be doing.
